New/Old Skool "Shaped" Pool / Park Deck
Madness Skateboards is a new face on the block. They are a transition based company but their decks can be ridden anywhere not just in the parks and bowls. They make wider than average popsicle boards and modern pool "shaped" decks with the most distinctive graphics seen in years with some tech constructions and features too.
Well that was the story... ;-)
A company buy out, mass walk out's by all of their pro riders, leaving their distribution company and factory with debts, a big old mess!
The distribution folded but the factory still had decks available to sell - hence these decks at a stupidly great price. ;-)
We at Conflict will NOT be stocking new Madness products made under their new owners - if they even continue?
Madness boards are top quality featuring (not every feature on every deck!) : Resin-7 construction, wheelwells, slick bases, "Impact light" construction, raised graphics, single deck pressed, 100% Canadian rock maple, pro riders and cool shapes.
This one is one of their fattest shapes and sure to be a favourite! A great transition board with a big nose in a shape which is similar to their Blunt deck but slimmer.
It's got a bigger than average 15 inch wheel base and a big squared tail - superb. Double drilled at the front so you can have a slightly shorter 14.5" wheelbase for nippier turning. This is going to make a killer pool / ramp board.
It would be best with 159/169 width trucks.
Medium depth concave with medium steep kicks. Madness call it mellow cave. If they want to see mellow concave they need to check out an early 1980s pig deck - that is mellow!
Set up Advice:
Trucks - 169s / 9.0" : Indy 169s, Gullwing Pro III, Thunder 161s, Krux 9", Gullwing Shadow 9" or Sushi 8.875" for a cheaper option. 159s would also be fine or even 149s with a wider wheel or if you like your wheels "in" a little.
Wheels - Whatever your favourites are - 54mm to 60mm+ on this one.
Transport Wheels - Santa Cruz "Slimeball OG" - 60mm and 78a hardness. Fast, soft and smooth plus look retro. OJ "Super Juice" or "Hot Juice".
